Thrive Learning Center is for talented students who have academic, cognitive, or behavior challenges to overcome. Sometimes students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, or auditory processing limitations have certain barriers to academic learning that can hinder the growth process. Thrive is committed to helping identify students' weaknesses and creating a plan that will allow students to grow and improve in confidence as well as competence.
If a student is not thriving at an academic level that is in line with their intellectual abilities, it is vital to find out the cause. With this in mind, the Thrive Center offers educational interventions that work at the root of learning difficulties using various programs and techniques. Depending on the needs identified from the initial assessment, programs to address particular needs may be recommended.
Programs used include:
Cognitive Connections - Brain integration therapy - rebeccakennard.com
PACE - Processing and Cognitive Enhancement - processingskills.com
NILD - National Institute of Learning Development - NILD.org
The Listening Program - advancedbrain.com
Barton Reading and Spelling System - bartonreading.com
Content Intervention: for students that need to catch up in an academic area that is not related to a underlying cognitive weakness.
Our goal is not to label a child with a disability, but to identify a student's cognitive strengths, address and strengthen their weak areas, and have them thrive in the classroom.
